Tape measure used by Orange City Council depot staff c 1960s
Description
A 30 meter retractable tape measure. The tape measure, made from steel and marked in both inches and centimeters, is housed within a circular brown polished leather case fitted at the centre with a brass winding device. Stamped on the brass winding device is "30m" and "WIND THIS WAY". Stamped into the leather around the winding device "RABONE CHESTERMAN LTD MADE IN ENGLAND". Incised into the leather on the outer edge "OCC JCO".
